Belmont's Curse Demo Save Transfer Guide

Prepare Belmont’s Curse demo progress for the full game: check the same platform and account, retained save data, required update and demo specifications.

Quick answer

Keep the demo save data, use the same platform and account for the full version, and update the full game before transferring. The official demo contains the opening chapter and may restrict features or content.

Keep the demo save, platform and account together

You can carry Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse demo progress into the full version under the conditions published by KONAMI: use the same platform and account, retain the demo save data, and update the full game to its latest version before transferring. Check those requirements before removing demo data or starting a different account’s copy of the game.

The official demo page, checked October 16, 2026, says the demo contains the opening chapter and that some features or content may be restricted. This guide helps you prepare that transition and choose the right troubleshooting branch. It does not assume a particular import-button label or an undocumented cross-platform save service.

Check what the demo offers on your platform

KONAMI links the demo for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Steam. Its published demo specifications distinguish the Switch frame-rate target and the amount of space required on each platform. Use the demo figures when preparing to try the opening chapter; they are not the storage requirements for every full-game edition.

Demo platform Published minimum required capacity Published frame-rate figure
PlayStation 5 6 GB 60 fps
Nintendo Switch 3 GB 30 fps
Xbox Series X/S 5 GB 60 fps
Steam 4 GB 60 fps

These are the figures on the official demo page, not a performance test of your hardware. Available storage and a listed frame-rate figure answer different questions: the former concerns installing the demo, while the latter does not guarantee an identical experience on every PC configuration.

The page lists Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish from Spain, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Check the current store entry for your chosen platform when downloading, particularly if language availability is central to your decision to try the game.

Step 1: Choose the platform on which you intend to continue

If carrying progress matters to you, plan to play the full version on the same platform as the demo. KONAMI makes that a transfer condition. Trying the opening chapter on a platform you will not use for the full game can still help you assess the adventure, but it does not establish that the resulting save can be imported elsewhere.

For example, playing the Steam demo and then buying the Switch version does not satisfy the published same-platform requirement. Treat that as a platform-choice decision before you invest more time in a demo save you expect to continue. The existence of multiple store links on the official page does not imply a shared cross-platform progression service.

Use the links from the official demo page or the exact game listing to avoid confusing this title with an older Castlevania release. The Steam title used by this site is app 4231820.

Step 2: Confirm the account you are using

The second transfer requirement is the same account. Before beginning the demo, check which account is active on your platform and use the account with which you intend to continue. A shared device can hold several accounts, so the name of the hardware alone does not establish that you are using the same player identity.

Before opening the full game, check that identity again. If a transfer option does not recognize progress, account mismatch is one of the published requirements you can verify without changing or deleting files. Note the account context privately; you do not need to post personal account information publicly to ask which transfer condition applies.

KONAMI’s note does not describe transferring progress between accounts. Do not assume that ownership of another copy, family access, or another signed-in user automatically replaces the same-account requirement. Make the platform and account check before trying to solve the problem by starting another save.

Step 3: Retain the actual demo save data

The official page explicitly says that demo save data must be retained for progress transfer. Keep it available while preparing the full game. That makes the save a required input to the transition, rather than an item to remove as soon as you decide to buy the full version.

Check the distinction between application installation and saved progress in the controls your platform provides. This guide does not give a manual save-file path or tell you to copy files into an undocumented directory. If a cleanup action warns that it will remove saved data, stop and reconsider it before completing the transfer.

If you have already removed the save, the published note does not guarantee recovery. Check the relevant platform’s supported save-management options or contact support for your situation. Reinstalling an application is not, by itself, evidence that the particular progress data required by the transfer is still available.

Step 4: Update the full version before importing progress

KONAMI requires the full version to be updated to the latest version when transferring save data. Complete the available game update on your platform before using its transfer flow. This is specifically a full-game requirement; simply having a current demo installation does not establish that your full version is ready.

Once the platform, account, save and update checks are satisfied, follow the prompts the full version actually presents for continuing demo progress. Read any save-selection or replacement confirmation carefully. The official demo page establishes the conditions but does not publish the exact wording of every platform’s import interface, so use the current on-screen instructions rather than looking for a button name invented by a third-party guide.

After the transition, check that the game has recognized the progress you intended to continue before treating the transfer as complete. If it has not, note which prerequisite you verified and what the current prompt says. Keep the existing data while you investigate.

Understand the opening chapter before comparing editions

The demo is an opening-chapter sample, not a promise that every system, area or feature of the full version is already available. KONAMI warns that features and content can be restricted in the demo. An unavailable function during that chapter should therefore be checked against the current demo’s instructions before you conclude that the full release is missing it.

The full game’s official presentation includes whip traversal and combat, boss-card Arcana, seven weapon categories and Relics. Use the opening chapter to decide whether the movement, presentation and reading of encounters suit you, while keeping those broader systems in context. The beginner guide provides a short explanation of the full-game systems without assuming that the demo exposes all of them immediately.

The Steam listing also describes a Midnight Edition with extra gallery content, style costumes and a bonus Relic. That product description is separate from the demo transfer requirements. The demo page does not state that buying a particular premium edition is a condition of carrying over your save.

Troubleshoot the right issue and keep a transfer checklist

If the full game does not start at all on PC, you cannot yet reach its transfer flow. Check the PC launch-fixes guide for KONAMI’s published V-Sync and Unlimited FPS issue. If you cannot get past the title page after saving, a separate system-language issue may be relevant. A cropped Steam Deck interface is another distinct report. None of those symptoms alone proves that demo data was lost.

Before contacting support about transfer, have four answers ready: which platform you used for the demo and full game, whether the same account is active, whether the demo save remains available, and whether the full version is fully updated. Add the exact message shown by the game. Those details connect your report to the published conditions and avoid unnecessary experimentation with saved progress.

Return to the guide directory when the transfer is complete. Keep your first full-game objective small: identify where the continued save places you, read the current objective, and follow the game’s next instruction. That is a clearer transition than assuming a promotional screenshot or another player’s chapter position must match your own save.

Route

Step-by-step guide

  1. Confirm platform and account

Use the same platform and account for the demo and full game, checking the active user before beginning the transition.

  2. Retain the demo save

Keep progress data available and avoid cleanup actions that remove it before the transfer is complete.

  3. Update and follow current prompts

Update the full game, use its current transfer instructions, and verify the intended progress before treating the move as complete.
